University of Illinois Faculty Senate Approves CDI Proposal

On September 10th, 2012 the University of Illinois Faculty Senate approved the proposal for the Center for Digital Inclusion (CDI). The Faculty Senate unanimously supported the proposal and will send it to the Illinois Board of Higher Education for review and final approval.  Moving forward CDI aims to create an inclusive and sustainable society through research, teaching, and public engagement surrounding issues of information and communication technologies and the impact they have on communities, organizations, and governments.  As it relates to the the Graduate School of Library and Information Science (GSLIS) and the University of Illinois, CDI will contribute to the primary goals of the campus strategic plan by providing hands-on, global leadership opportunities  for undergraduate and graduate students; academic excellence by diverse faculty and staff.
