The Center for Digital Inclusion (CDI) will present a lightning talk at the 2014 University of Illinois Extension State Conference on from 12:30pm-2:00pm on November 18 at the I Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign.

Dr. Jon Gant, Director at CDI, will discuss a new project “Illinois Digital Innovation Leadership Program: Empowering Local Communities around Digital Literacy Education.”

The Illinois Digital Innovation Leadership Program (DILP) is a collaborative project which raises awareness of important 21st Century skills such as digital manufacturing, digital media production, and data analytics. Working with cross campus partners, DILP employs an innovative model of mobile FabLabs to help local communities identify and address their own development goals around digital literacy.  Through a combination of resources, training, and tools, DILP’s goals are to build empowering community partnerships for social and economic benefit.
